Still, on the other hand, that meant that if she ever was caught, the USA could not intervene to help her. <br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Funny fact for the movie lovers: the training camp was called\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>&#8220;the Farm,&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and it was\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong><em>&#8220;a simulated\u00a0<\/em>Truman Show set<em>\u00a0in a fictionalized country called the Republic of Vertania (ROV), where we are to undergo the most demanding espionage training on earth.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was hard for Amaryllis to adapt to the real world after she quit the CIA.\u00a0Spending years as an International art dealer while she was infiltrating the world of nuclear power providers from Europe and the Middle East, became more than a role play.\u00a0<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Nobody besides herself, her husband and CIA knew what she was doing for real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>&#8220;I discover that becoming Real isn&#8217;t as simple as driving out through the Langley gates.<\/strong><\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><em><strong>It isn&#8217;t only undercover spies who pretend. It&#8217;s everyone with a social media account, it turns out, or a lover or a boss.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">That is why I admired Amaryllis&#8217; mother for helping her found herself in the real world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>\u201cPeople pretend in the real world just as much as in the spy world, <\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">she says<\/span><em style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>They pretend because the stakes are the same\u2013the stakes are not getting hurt.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Problem is, <\/strong><\/em><span style=\"color: #008000;\">she points out<\/span><em style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>, the cost of the armor is the same, too.
